This is a luxurious alpaca rug, 100% alpaca, checkered and the fur in the natural tones ivory, brown and black. Silky soft, durable and elegant. The back of the rug as you can see in the pictures is the real skin treated from the alpaca. If you are like me probably will want to know that the alpaquitas are not hurt, when they naturally die the artisans will use their skin, so real 100% alpaca carpets are not common.
In the town of Otavalo in Ecuador the artisans have a commitment to ethical practices.
This is a rare find and investment that will last you for years if treated well. (I have 2 myself for 15 years and they look beautiful and still soft)
Alpaca fibers are naturally hypoallergenic. Handmade. Totally organic.

To clean them you can just vacuum them normally, do not clean them with harsh detergents or brushes.
A little bit of info about more about the items in my store, they come from Ecuador a beautiful country in South America. Because of the Andes elevations above 12,000 feet, alpacas have a highly warm soft wool. Alpacas are smaller than llamas. Alpaca is 40% warmer than sheep’s wool, yet it wicks moisture away much more efficiently.
